    ooh thats a tough one.
Jesus likes batman because he uses his wealth for good- hes charitable and generous and cares for his neighbor.
Jesus likes superman because he’s…well…superman. and superman is the ultimate self sacrificial character. plus he has a slutty journalist girlfriend who he saves over and over again. allegory, anyone?

Um…I dunno. Superman is absolutely a Christ figure…sent by his Dad to make things right in the world. But Batman is so damn cool…

    I dunno.

I think JC would be into Batman personally – because of the gadgets. I’m pretty sure he’s a gadget guy. I mean sure, superman’s really cool, and can basically do anything because he was gifted with powers, but Batman’s just a regular Joe. No extra human powers, just neat toys. I think Jesus would pull for the average guy that goes above and beyond his calling.

    (from Sally on MySpace):

I think Jesus would pick Supes, but I think his dad would have Bats in his back pocket, just in case.

It’s like keeping an extra sample of Kryptonite, just in case. Which Bats does. I think bats and the big man would get along, given the chance. But Jesus was never into all that justice stuff.

I think Jesus would choose Superman for two reasons:
    1. As Tripp said, the origins of Superman have to do a heavenly (or extraterrestrial) body coming down to earth to use his powers for the good of humanity.
    2. The colors in Superman’s costume are way better.

    (from Kris on Facebook):

Man of Steel – no questions asked.
Superman vs. Batman is the Marvel version of the gnostic contraversy, allow me to explain: The gnostics claimed that Jesus was the highest created being of God; Jesus was born wholly human and at his baptism was adopted by God. In this scenario, things get attributed to the humanity or the divinity of Christ – most especially any pain, suffering, and human attributes Jesus endures is not felt and endured by the divinity of Christ, only to the humanity. Batman was born to the Wayne family and only after a series of events did he BECOME Batman. For the most part it seems that the superhero things that happen to Bruce Wayne are attributed to Batman and all the suffering and pain he indures is attributed to Bruce Wayne.

Kal-El (a.k.a. Superman), on the otherhand, takes on the earthly mask of Clark Kent much like how the Christ came into the world taking upon himself the name Jesus. Anything that Clark Kent endures Kalel endures and vise-verse.
Jesus, like Kal -El, has superpowers. Where Kalel was “faster than a speedy bullet, more powerful than a might locomotive, and could jump buildings in a single bound” Jesus raised people (including himself) from the dead, gave sight to the blind, made the lame walk, etc. What could Batman do? He was strong and he had brains, but he had no other-worldly powers.
One other thing to note is that just as Joseph was not Jesus’ father, neither was Mr.Kent Kal-El’s father (granted Martha wasn’t Kal-El’s mother either).
