(I can’t figure out how to actually put this one in the post, so you’ll just have to click the link to watch…sorry!)
Just my thoughts on this: I’m still really excited, but the more I see of it, the more nervous I get that it’s going to be horrible. I just don’t like who they got to play Bella, and her opening lines in this trailer are way too forceful and not at all in character with the book Bella…guess we’ll just have to wait and see!

Oh, you know it totally does! I’ve seen the movie twice now, and I’m planning to go again sometime soon! The writing is fantastic (even with the comic book cheese factor, but you HAVE to have that in there!), the casting was spot on (who knew that I was totally in love with Robert Downey Jr.??) and the story was great. I highly recommend it to all!
I saw the movie opening weekend and I’m just now getting around to my recommendation…sorry about that folks! Don’t know why I waited. So why am I writing about it now? I got a random comment on my last post about the Hulk from Patrick. I went to check out his website and it’s pretty cool! The tag line of his website “KOG Media” is “God’s Kingdom in Movies, Music and Television”. Gotta love that! I clicked on his review of Iron Man and was very intrigued. Click here to check it out yourself!
Also…if you’ve seen the new Indiana Jones movie, check out his review of that as well. My view pretty much coincides with his, though my order of prefrence is 1)Raiders 2)Last Crusade 3)Temple of Doom 10)Crystal Skull. My basic view of the most recent Indy movie is this – if you want to see it, you should. If you had no desire to see it, don’t.

Last Friday, I went to see “The Incredible Hulk”. It was AMAZING!!! I loved it! I highly recommend it to all, especially those of you who loved the original TV series, you won’t be disappointed!
Not only is the movie great (with a guest spot from Tony Stark aka, Iron Man!) but I just found out about another reason to love the new Hulk movie – it’s GREEN!

Hello all! Time for another update. This weekend was once again full of fun and friends! I have a feeling that this summer will have very few empty weekends! We’re already looking forward to many weddings, a week long visit from my niece Nicole, camping, traveling and other fun! It will be an expensive busy summer, but I’ve very much looking forward to it!
So, on Friday we celebrated the 2nd birthday of our dog, Malcolm Reynolds Thornburgh. He seemed very enthused when we sang “Happy Birthday” to him…I think he really just wanted to eat the cake! He also got a couple of new toys, including his new favorite – a squeaky, stuffed warthog that we named “Piggy”. Piggy is about the same size as Mal, so it’s really fun to watch him play with it and try to carry it around in his mouth!
Here’s the birthday boy with his cake…he looks really excited to have his picture taken, doesn’t he?
The next day, I hosted an Indiana Jones Movie Marathon! It began at 12:30 pm and we watched the first 3 movies in a row. There was food, themed beverages and games! I made trivia questions to go with each movie and a few bonus questions. The winner of that game got an Indy “action figure”. There was also the Last Crusade Cup game. I had the table covered in all different types of cups and glasses and each one had a red sticker on the bottom. Most said, “You have chosen…poorly” but one said “You have chosen…wisely.” The goal was obviously to choose the correct cup. The winner got a pack of Indiana Jones trading cards. I thought that was pretty clever if I do say so myself
Here is the table, covered in the cups, glasses and mugs.
Close up of the center piece I made for the party. The “stones” are boxes wrapped in packing paper. It was covered in bugs, a monkey and a snake! The ball on top is one of those Styrofoam balls painted brown to look like the big rolling rock at the beginning of “Raiders of the Lost Ark”.
Themed beverages, from “Temple of Doom” – the “poison” was ginger ale, and the “antidote” was blue kool-aid. If you don’t get it, go back and watch the opening sequence of Temple of Doom!
Here are some of the people that came to the party enjoying the show. We had about 15-18 people in and out throughout the day.
After we watched the first 3 a group of 6 of us went up to Evanston and watched “Temple of the Crystal Skull.” It was a good day all around!
Of course the next day was Sunday, so that meant Sunday Dinner! We all trekked down to Marcie’s place in Hyde Park as she is going to England for the summer, so we won’t see her again until September!! Her place is AMAZING!! We had a great time with everyone there.
Here’s some of the group – there were about 13 of us there that night
Marcie made salmon. It was really good!
Here’s Leo enjoying the culinary delights!
And some of the entertainment for the night – Hank has just decided that he’s a baby dolphin, so he regaled us with his tricks. You have to do the real dolphin hand signals for him and he’ll follow!
Trish enjoying the cake before the rest of us could get any!
A good weekend full of food and friends – always gotta love that! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are enjoying a good week!

Who’s going with me?
September 17, 2007
I went to go see “Shoot Em Up” with Justin and Tripp this past weekend. You should see it. I don’t want to say I recommend it to you though…because it’s an awful movie. It really is, but it’s supposed to be. From the death by carrot (3 total), to the robotic baby that came out of no where, and the gunfight while skydiving, you’ll love to hate every second of it! It’s total cheese, gratuitous violence, blood, and guns. An unbelievable plot and terrible script will have you laughing your head off in the theatre! I mean come one, Ebert liked it! Here’s one thing he had to say: “‘Shoot ‘em Up,’ written and directed by the gung-ho Michael Davis, is the most audacious, implausible, cheerfully offensive, hyperactive action picture I’ve seen since, oh, “Sin City,” which in comparison was a chamber drama.”
It’s lovely and you really should see it, but please don’t expect much. If you’re going to a movie called “Shoot Em Up” and you’re expecting a great cinematic masterpiece, then you have other issues, buddy!
